An aging renegade. An aging tyrant. And a young woman who refuses to share her secrets with anyone.
When two quistrils from the Citadel accost a young woman and Grayvle and Heldrick pull off a rescue, one of the quistrils escapes. All the quistrils of the Citadel are now bound to learn of Heldrick and Grayvle's continued existence and to set as a top priority the goal of capturing them.

And Grayvle was injured during the rescue. Fortunately, Heldrick and the woman, Estrienn, are able to keep Grayvle alive long enough to get him some better medical attention. Unfortunately, Estrienn wants to remain with them and join in their fight. But Heldrick and Grayvle are themselves renegade quistrils stronger, faster, and far better-trained than any non-quistril, let alone a mere woman. She will only get in their way.

Yet Heldrick has underestimated a female once before. He doesn't intend to do so again. As time passes and Estrienn proves her intelligence and competence, he feels vindicated. He remains bothered, however, by Estrienn's refusal to tell them who she really is, where she's from, or what she was doing outside after curfew on a cold winter's night...and by whether to include her in what turns out to be his most audacious scheme yet.

Pandir Decloaked Cloaks Book 2 eBook F A Fisher

If you have read the first book "Cloaks", then this is the second and makes a satisfying conclusion to "Cloaks". Bess is no longer in the picture since she is safe and at home at the end of the last book. I miss her presence though as she humanized Heldrick and their friendship really made the story. It's their friendship that compelled Heldrick to work to change his world for the better for both Quistrils and Cadrils and she will never know what happened to him. Grayvle and Heldrick work to undermine the Kallidor Citadel by plotting to overthrow Pandir and into their planning comes Estrienn, a woman as smart and brave as Bess who holds a secret. The story became bogged down with all the characters and their separate scheming, subterfuge, and political maneuvering (politics is the death of me, hence my lower ratings) and I had to force myself to keep reading. I knew everything would tie together, but it didn't grab my interest like the first book. All my questions were answered in the end and it completes the story started with "Cloaks", but I still miss Bess.

Pandir Decloaked Cloaks Book 2 eBook F A Fisher Reviews

You get attached to the characters. Fisher doesn't need gimmicks to keep you interested. Great plot development over the course of the two books. Waiting for the 3rd.
F. A. Fisher is an author I'll be adding to my list to watch for. I appreciate his hatred of typo's, and the confusing dialog predominant in so many new writers. Fisher understands the rules of a writer capture the readers attention immediately and keep the plot/plots interesting. .. -)
Had a great time with this second adventure in the series. I wasn't quite as gripped as I was by Cloaks, but still fare to see Heldrick champion good and smart over evil and stupid. I hope Bess reappears in the next book and that Estrienn gets to show her true colors. I fear she is an evil spy that is merely toying with Grayvle's heart. But only F.A. Fisher can know.
Its a great read whether you read the first or not. But I enjoy a good saga. Maybe they'll make a movie one day.
As soon as I finished the first book in the series, Cloaks,I was thrilled to be able to purchase this book to read on the flight from San Francisco to the East Coast, 5 hours. I continued reading to the end before calling it a night. What fun. Another fast flight with this 2nd in the series. Great sequel. I can't wait for the next one.
This was a fun book. For those who read the first book, Cloaks, this is a great continuation. But the author explains enough that you can pick this book up first. A cool exploration of a unique universe, with lots of room for speculation about how else this world might work.
Excellent read. I was hooked by the first book, Cloaks, and the second and final, I believe, was just as riveting. Although I did miss Bess in the second book, the mystery of who Estrienn was, and how she fitted in was truly captivating. Awaiting a new book with great anticipation.
I snagged this immediately following the first book, Cloaks. It can be read on its own, but there are a few references to the first book that have way more depth and meaning if you've read Cloaks first.

This follows Heldrick's return with Gravyle and the family they help in Cloaks. Another reviewer said there were too many characters, each with their own plots, but with the way the quistrils scheme for power and placement in their hierarchy for the most part, I think it would have been weird if as many people weren't involved in the main plot to overthrow the tyrannical and paranoid Pandir. Another Citadel gets involved as well, and they have a few interesting secrets they've been keeping. It's, overall, a lovely story about friendship, betrayals, revenge, justice, and positive reform -- I couldn't put it down. The pace is quick and the plot flits about, but it's pointed flitting vs. meandering and confusing.

I have one complaint about Pandir Uncloaked It clearly ends with another story in mind, but there is no third story yet. There needs to be a third. It's a series that could possibly go on for ages, but a clean, tidy trilogy would be wonderful! I want to know what Gravyle does when he finds out about the one secret!
